Obsessed with Authors
A run down on this month's author events and books
OBSESSED WITH TECHNIQUE
We’re obsessed with Ella Quittner’s new book, Obsessed with the Best. She’s a writer that spent that last three years nerding out on all the possible ways to make, well, everything, or at least 100 things. She did it in a methodical, visually pleasing way, with iconic flat lay photos of her test product variations each labeled with painters tape and sharpie. The goal, to find the best methods for making the best variations of all the things. Want to know how Ella decided what made each recipe the best? You can ask her when she visits the shop March 13 from 6-8pm. She’ll be in conversation with James Beard Award winning journalist, Katy Osuna co-host of Copper & Heat podcast.

OBSESSED WITH FLAVOR
Diaspora Spice Company has been leading the way in advocating for fair trade and regenerative farming in the South Asian spice trade and in doings so, bringing those premium spices to our kitchens. In their new release, The Diaspora Spice Co. Cookbook .founder Sana Javeri Kadri and her co-author and recipe developer, Asha Loupy, document families, culinary traditions and heirloom recipes from their farm partners throughout India and Sri Lanka. They’ll be at the shop to talk about their work and recipes, March 16, 6-8pm.

OBSESSED WITH EATING IN
The title of Colu Henry’s latest book Better at Home says it best. Making dinner at home with and for friends and family can be really rewarding. Her dishes feel like the menu of your favorite cafe that serves beautiful, seasonal, simple food. The recipes are bright, delicious, accessible. Gorgeous photography and plating, beautiful paper, a smart table of contents, all make this book a winner. We’re throwing a little party for Better at Home March 26, 6-8pm. Colu will be joined in conversation with Megan Scott, co-author of the Joy of Cooking and co-host of the Joy of Cooking podcast.

OBSESSED WITH CHOCOLATE
